For nearly 20 years, El Rincon has been more than just a bar.

It has been a place for music, friendships, first dates, celebrations, language classes, community groups, quiet conversations and cultural exchange.

Over the years we have hosted live music, flamenco, tortilla de patata competitions, poetry evenings, comedy nights, Spanish classes, our community choir, and countless events that have brought people together in South Bristol.

Many of you will have your own El Rincon story.

We are currently facing a reviw of our licence which could have a big impact on the future of the bar, so we are asking our community to help ensure that El Rincon's voice is heard.

If El Rincon has been important to you in any way, we would be incredibly grateful if you could share a few words about what the venue means to you, your experiences here, or the role you believe it plays in Bristol's cultural and community life.

Whether you have come for the music, the Spanish atmosphere, the language classes, the choir, poetry and comedy evenings, a celebration with friends, or simply enjoyed having an independent neighbourhood venue on North Street, your support matters.

Please include "El Rincon Licence Review" in the subject line and include your full name and address, as representations must contain these details to be considered by the Licensing Authority.

You don't need to write a long letter. A few heartfelt sentences  about your experiences at El Rincon, why you value it, and the contribution you feel it makes to the local community can make a real difference.

The deadline for representations is 16 July 2026.
